Automoto.it: with Matteo Valenti testing Tarp-All.
Speed and safety during loading operations: when the tarpaulin system makes the difference.
Two essential mantras must be observed when loading a heavy truck: 1. you have to be fast, possibly very fast; 2. you have to work safely.
But how to combine these two apparently opposite and incompatible needs? There’s a solution and it’s Tarp-All.
To test our tarpaulin system, we went to an important steel plant in the heart of Val Camonica with Matteo Valenti, journalist from Automoto.it and well-known in the four-wheel world. The mission is the loading of drawn steel products weighing tons with an overhead crane; the key words are, in fact, speed and safety.
Among the arriving and departing trucks, it is immediately clear that our flatbed vehicle is the undisputed leader, thanks to the Tarp-All system making the difference in loading and unloading operations.
Compared to containers or semi-trailers with more traditional tarpaulins that can only be partially uncovered, Tarp-All allows the entire load compartment to be uncovered, guaranteeing access from all sides, and to have full visibility of the bed and of the entire manoeuvring area of the overhead crane, thus reducing risks for operators. These characteristics also allow the load carried by the overhead crane to travel at a lower height above the ground, with advantages in terms of both speed and safety.
The result? Our vehicle with Tarp-All tarpaulin system loads in half the time compared to others.
And that's not a small detail because they have 4,000 trucks like this in here a year. Just think of how much time could be saved if each one had such a clever system.
But this is only part of the story... to find out more, watch the episode of Industrie Speciali on Automoto.it dedicated to our Tarp-All and overhead crane loading operations.
